Vintage Beauty

Hi everyone! I hope you are well this weekend πŸ™‚

I have been painting this afternoon. I messed up a couple of times, I tried a few different subjects and they just weren’t working for me.

I hate that sometimes because it is a waste of valuable paper. But I soon found a subject to paint. What do you think of it?

I really do enjoy experimenting with watercolour. I used to no be able to “get it”. I didn’t understand watercolour at all.

One big thing I found is the paint MUST DRY before you can go on to the next step. I started out as a pastel artist. And it is nice because it is a dry medium. But it sure is messy!

It smudges easily. And a lot of my paintings were ruined and I would have to start over, because on some surfaces, it just wouldn’t hold many layers of pastel.

I have tried so many art mediums since I found out I could actually hold a pencil πŸ˜„. Just this year (the end of last year really) I went back to Avoncroft and joined their art society again. I was bound and determined I would figure out watercolour and I guess I figured it out πŸ™‚

I am a member of 3 art societies but it’s kind of hard to juggle them when I work full-time. But I DO enjoy meeting with other artists.

I have some ideas circling around in my head too for next year. Hopefully it will be a great year. Oh I guess any year will be better than this one πŸ˜„

I hope you enjoy my painting and thank you for dropping by. I appreciate you πŸ™‚β€οΈ
